Out of the Womb

I don't get it.

What is it with boys?

How do they come out of the womb playing with trucks?

I love that they have something in common!

Super Baby!

Faster than a speeding bullet,
more powerful than a locomotive,
able to leap tall buildings in a single bound.
 It's a bird.
It's a plane.
It's Super Baby!

Christmas Countdown

Since we put up our tree, Caden asked me EVERY DAY if it was Christmas yet.  He was driving me nuts!  So I set up an advent calendar to countdown the days to Christmas.

Some of the envelopes have treats in them and some of them have activities for us to do.  So far we have take a picture with Santa, gone caroling, made ornaments, and paper snowflakes,

but the BEST activity (so far!) was making Santa beards in the bathtub.

He wasn't so sure at first, but (obviously) he had a ball!  We still have 11 more activities to do before Christmas - and they're all going to be AWESOME (if I do say so myself)!  I promise to take lots of pictures of the fun we're having!

Jolly Old St. Nicholas

We have taken Caden to see Santa every year since birth.  Some years have been good and some have been not so good.  Last year we went to the hospital where Nana works to visit the big guy and had such a fun time that we went back again.

Last year Caden would not get near Santa unless the rest of us went too.  This year he did a little better. He wouldn't sit on Santa's lap, but he would get (kind of) close, but not too close.
Yep, that's it.  Just close enough to answer Santa's question, "What do you want for Christmas?"  "ThatbigBuzzLightyearandthatrecycletruck."
(I'll translate - That big Buzz Lightyear and that recycle truck.)

And Asher?  Well, we could hardly get him to look at the camera because he was too busy checking out Santa's beard.

Caden decided Santa was ok after Nana got in there too.

After we ate breakfast we were visited by Loco the balloon-animal-making clown.

Caden thought he was FUNNY!

Asher had a good time too - mostly with the bell necklace that was in his goodie bag

and he practiced his crawling.

Dude is the fastest backwards crawler you'll ever meet and often backs himself into a corner.

Then we tried to get some pictures of "Santa's Little Helpers" before we left.

If Santa needs any help this Christmas season, I know two little guys who are ready, willing, and able!

Ho, ho, ho!

It's Beginning to Look...

... a lot like Christmas!

Our tree is up

(although some of us were more fond of it than others)

Our ornaments have been hung -

including Asher's first one!

All FIVE stockings are now hung by the chimney with care

Gram embroidered Asher's stocking just like she did for Caden

We have baked, decorated a gazillion Christmas cookies (before you think I'm Mom of the Year, these are drop and bake Mickey Mouse Christmas cookies.  Thanks Pillsbury!)

Our advent calendar is also up (more on this in another post)

We also went to the annual Golden Christmas Walk.

It was actually much warmer than these pictures suggest...

Yes, it's the most wonderful time of the year!!  Seriously Christmas with a 3 year old is AWESOME!  He swears he's never done any of this before and he is overwhelmed with amazement.  He exclaims, "Mommy, look at the beautifuls on that tree!" EVERY TIME he sees a decorated tree.

Aah, it really is beginning to look and feel  ('cept for the weather) a lot like Christmas.

BUT,  it began to look even more like Christmas the next day when we went to eat breakfast with the big guy in red.  I promise to post that soon (which may actually happen now that JZ is getting his OWN computer and I am done with my class!)
