Prepare yourselves for a big one. I'm going to smoosh all of our Easter pictures into one big post.
Since we had already gotten pictures with the Easter bunny taken, the next step was to dye Easter eggs. This year I let Caden dye them all by himself.
After they dried he covered them with Spiderman stickers
Our finished products...
I guess the day before Easter is also known as Easter Egg Hunt Day. We started by going down to Golden for the ginormous hunt. It was a gorgeous Easter weekend!
Caden saw lots of people he knew, including his friend Bergen,
and the Easter Bunny
Asher was not about to hug EB, but he did give him a fist bump
At last year's hunt, Ashy slept in his car seat ('cause he was about 3 weeks old!). This year he got to participate and LOVED it!
It's hard to believe that this sweet face was diagnosed with a raging ear infection and put on antibiotics the day before this |
We got to the park a few minutes early because they start right on time and it is a madhouse! The eggs were all ready for the 0-3 year olds.
At 10:00 on the dot the hunt started and Caden was off!
He stopped to shake each egg he picked up. When I asked him why he did that he said, "I was listening for jelly beans." |
Asher had a much more subdued hunt and needed a little help getting his eggs in his basket.
After the hunt was over (at 10:01) we surveyed the loot
and then dumped out the candy and recycled the plastic eggs
Then we went to a cookie decorating party at a hotel in town.
Good cooking, Buddy!
That evening we went to another hunt at a golf course nearby. Same show, but this time kids ate for free in the clubhouse afterwards!
The next day was officially Easter! The Easter Bunny left baskets for our boys even though someone (ahem, me) forgot to leave snacks for him. Oops!
Easter eggs, Candy Land, and books - oh my!
Caden's favorite part was the money
He very diligently counted every coin that went into his piggy bank
We cleaned ourselves up a teensy bit and went to church to celebrate the real reason for Easter.
And then we had another egg hunt (that's three in two days if you've lost count!)
By this point Ashy was all done with being awake. I tried to let him hunt too, but he very politely (or not so much) said no thank you. Nap please.
After church Nana, Grandpa, Gram, DeeDee, and Kirk all came over to our house to eat, fly kites
eat some more, and play with all of the boys' new stuff
Poor Caden! Asher kept taking all of the stuff out of his basket and putting it in his own. Caden is very sweetly saying, "No, no Ashy. That's my candy!" |
Ashy didn't much care.
Whew! Happy Easter from these two cuties - and in case you're wondering, chicks really do dig them!
