Bay-cation is FUN!

Last week we went on our first vacation as a family of four!  We went to Breckenridge for 5 days to hang out together, swim, and play.  Caden actually got to go for a whole week - he went up a couple of days early with Papa and Gaga.  He was super excited to go on "bay-cation."

Here he is pulling his little suitcase to the car.  I know it's blurry, but it's the best I could get.  He wasn't interested in stopping for a picture.  He was interested in going on "bay-cation."

He wasn't disappointed - "bay-cation" was as fun as he thought it would be!

And what were the rest of us doing while they were "bay-cationing?"  We were attending my dear friend, Kelly's wedding.

Asher loved his first rehearsal and wedding!

After the wedding, JZ, Asher, and I went to join the Caden for a  little "bay-cation" of our own!  Asher was pretty psyched to see his big brother

Our first night, after we said goodbye to Papa and Gaga, we went to the park for a little playtime

The next day we went to another park and then went to A&W for lunch - we even got ice cream for in the middle of the day!

That evening we went swimming and put Asher in the pool for the first time

He liked it - up until nap time.  Then he needed a little snuggling.  I was happy to oblige - a cocktail in one hand and my sleeping lovey in the other.

Caden was happy just to play in the pool

Tuesday was pretty much awesome!  We were able to reserve a movie theater for a few hours in the morning.  Caden loved eating popcorn for breakfast and watching "Horton Hears a Who."

Then we went back to the pool for a little more swimming...

...eating...

...and kicking

Whew, all the work tires a buddy out
Napping on a pool lounge chair?  Yep, that's totally my kid!

While we were there, JZ and I decided that Caden was a scary swimmer - he has very little fear and even less ability.  So we got him a life jacket, or "swim coat" as he called it.

At first he wasn't so sure about it, but eventually he got the hang of it and loved swimming with it on!

Who wouldn't love to be able to jump in the "big water?"

While Caden swam, Asher hung out and looked at his hands (seriously!)

And of course, more kicking...

...and sleeping

Asher wasn't the only one that got worn out.  After a morning of swimming, Caden took a HUGE nap. Four hours after I put him down, this is what he looked like
Sweet, tired dude!

Caden wasn't the only one to have a good time - Asher loved it too, and he did more than just sleep, I promise. He road in the Baby Bjorn for the first time

I think he liked it

He also used our borrowed travel swing

And played on his play gym

Good times, right?

So, that pretty much sums up our vacation - playing at the park, movie watching, sleeping, and swimming.  Oh yeah, and donut eating

But, our fun eventually had to end.  So we packed our car TO THE TOP

and headed home

But not before stopping at a summer ski sale and picking up a new helmet for #1

Vacationing with two littles is definitely a challenge, but we had so much fun.  We decided that if we could do it this year, we can do it in the future.  It's got to get easier, and we still had a blast!

Yeah, yeah for vacation days!
