Are you wondering what we've been doing? Well, nothing that involves walking, water, or small rocks, but we've still been able to have some fun around here.
We've taken several bikes rides

Asher loves it, I swear! |
Caden has figured out a way to still work at his tool bench
We've visited the Denver Zoo
And played LOTS of Legos.
We've also made pizza, eaten LOTS of popsicles (7UP with gummy bears are the fav!), and had picnics with friends
And then there's the wrestling. Oh, the wrestling. So, being cooped up is hard for a little boy that likes to run, jump, and play. Sometimes he goes a little stir crazy with some serious pent up energy. It's a little scary to wrestle with him (or allow him to wrestle with his baby brother!) when there's a club leg flying around. So, we gave him a big stuffed dog named Yogi (since he has a bear named Puppy, it seemed only right to have a dog named after Yogi Bear) and told him to pin him.
Caden was declared the winner!!
Last Wednesday we took CP back to the doctor for an x-ray and check up. Good news is that his leg is healing well!
And...this guy was part of the No Cry Club!! Yay, tough guy Caden!
We go back in 3 weeks for another check-up. They will x-ray his leg again and if it has healed, they will remove the cast! I'm not super hopeful about that possibility and am certainly not going to tell him he might be getting his cast off. Children's Hospital is wonderful...and very cautious (which I appreciate. I do NOT want to do this again!). The break is very near the growth plate that 80% of his leg growth comes from, so they want it to be really solid. I'm currently praying for miraculous bone growth by June 26th! The only side effect that he MIGHT have is that his left leg could become a little longer than the right. Because of the break, the body says, "Make bone, make bone." It's possible that his body might make too much bone at a faster rate than the other side. Luckily, if that does happen, it should right itself within a year. There shouldn't be any lasting effects from this. Whew!!
However, there might be some lasting effects on me. I'm still debating if I should ever let him (or Asher@) on a trampoline, bike, scooter, or bouncy house again.
Jeremy says I have to.
Fine. If Caden can be a tough guy I can too!
Anyone looking for a play date?!? Bring your kids on over, we love company!!
