Big Helper!

What did we do before we had Caden to help out? We certainly weren't able to hose off the house without him - who would hold the end of the hose?

And we certainly would never have been able to wash the car without him!

Thank goodness for our big helper!

My Little Copycat

Sometimes we wonder if Caden understands what we're doing. Apparently he does. Apparently we watch too much TV around here. Here is is "changing" the channel...

Daddy must have taught him the upside down and backwards method!

What a Mess!

Caden likes to do things by himself. This morning he needed to feed himself his yogurt. In fact, he wouldn't take any if I gave it to him. By himself, thank you very much. I admit that I have avoided this as long as possible. It's just so messy! He's been feeding himself with a fork (less mess!) but the spoon was another story. This morning, however, I gave in. Yes, it was messy. Yes, he loved it. Yes, it is another sign that my baby is growing up. Sigh. Again.

Pay no attention to the pink spoon and bowl Caden is using - they came in the set and he is very secure with his masculinity!

Sunday Snapshot {Clean Countertop}

For 15 months, the countertop behind our sink has looked like this......a cleaning and drying station for bottles.

Today, however, the countertop looks like this...Yep, all of the bottles, nipples, caps, etc. have all been packed away

Why?!?

Because this sippy-cup drinking boy (who loves the singing and dancing on Barney!)......has given up the bottle completely!

I'm a sad that my little one is growing up so quickly, but super happy to have my countertop back.

Really though, it may be a few more years before I get it back completely. Instead of bottles this is what I have now...

Sigh. At least the kitchen sink is clear!

Shout Out to Mimi

Today is Caden's Mimi's 90th Birthday. So, in honor of her special day, we made her a card

Nice work, don't you think? The words were (obviously) written by me, but all the artistic "details" were done by Caden himself!

Happy 90th Birthday, Grandma! We love you to bits and think you're pretty darn amazing. We wish that we could be there to celebrate with you, but we're looking forward to seeing you in November!

Music Class

Caden P loves music. He loves to dance, strum Daddy's guitar, and sing in Mommy's microphone - we had to get this kid into a music class. We found one at the Golden Rec Center with Miss Stephanie the Great. It is a 30 min. class for 1-2 year olds that meets once a week. The kids get to sing, drum, dance, and explore. He loves it! Last week JZ got to go with us, so I was able to take some pics.
So happy to be at Music Class...

and that Daddy was there!

Broncos Training Camp

Broncos fever has hit our house hard - and it's only August - oh dear!
Last week the three of us packed up and drove down and spent the morning at Broncos Training Camp. We had never been before and didn't know what to expect, but we had a great time! We were able to snag a little shade close enough to watch the team work through their drills and afterwards get a few autographs on Caden's teeny-tiny Broncos hat.
#15 is Tim Tebow. The 3rd string QB had the most people wearing his jersey and the longest line for autographs. Denver has Tebow fever!

#8 is Kyle Orton, the starting QB

On to the autographs
Lance Ball signing C's hat

Eddie Royal

Brady Quinn

Then it was (finally!) time to go home
The most tired boy in the whole world sporting his newly autographed hat
Go Broncos!

Not this kid!

Ok, maybe Tigger needs to stick around

And the car wash too

But that's it!

Buffalo Bill Days

A few weeks ago (I'm late, I know. Hey, my kid is walking now!) we went to Buffalo Bill Days in downtown Golden. It's an annual tradition for us and the rest of Golden (you can read about Caden's first Buffalo Bill Days experience here).
We started BBD festivities on Friday night. We met some friends for Happy Hour and then walked over to the park where there was music and miles upon miles of booths with food on a stick.
This is Caden schmoozing a new lady friend
On Saturday we started our morning with a pancake breakfast at the firehouse. We loaded C up into the backpack...
...found all of our people (and there was a crew! I had pre-purchased $83 in pancake breakfast tix for all of us!) and headed over to the firehouse
This is our friend, Andrew Mudd. Andrew is a BIG fan of fire trucks. In fact, as I type this, Andrew has just become a big brother to a little boy that he wants to name Fire Truck. Here's Andrew's Mommy, Cara, with Fire Truck still in utero
No pics of the eating, but Caden thought the blueberry pancakes were yummy! After breakfast we watched the parade. Caden watched for a few minutes...
...but was not really into it...
..It was, after all, nap time!
I try to always post nice pictures of Caden (he is a happy guy most of the time, so it's not too hard), but this picture just cracks me up - we're in the middle of the parade, Nana and Grandpa K are smiling so nicely, and Caden is melting. This blog is all about reality, people!
So, we had to have some snacks
Yummy, snow cone!

Notice the snack trap full of Goldfish crackers that I'm carrying? I never go too far without it!

Nana and Grandpa K also took C down to the river to put his teeny-tiny feet in the ice cold river. He loved it!

Hooray for Buffalo Bill Days!
