Party Like a Rock Star

Our little rock star celebrated his 2nd birthday on Sunday! We hosted a rock star themed breakfast bash on Saturday for our friends, Caden's buddies, and our family. We had everything we needed to have a rockin' good time (I'm going to see how many times I can throw that in here!)...

A VIP list and All Access passes

microphone bubble favors
a tattoo parlor
an accessories department

rockin' decorations
and a well staffed venue
We convinced Nana and Grandpa Kim to come over early to help set up for our gig. Kim and JZ cooked bacon and sausage out on the grill
and Nana was in charge of wrangling the birthday boy

When the VIPs showed up they checked in and got their badges
and then went outside to play
Caden received a sandbox for his birthday and it was a big hit!
there was also a little t-ball practice
accessorizing

and some sliding
all while the adults talked
there was also a lot of eating (who doesn't love breakfast food?!?)
there was (of course!) some picture posing/birthday song singing/candle lighting/cake eating
Instead of opening presents, we asked everyone to bring a new, unwrapped toy to be donated to The Children's Hospital in Denver. Our friends were extremely generous and there are going to be some happy kiddos soon!
Afterwards we had to do a little cleaning up
After all that fun, even rock stars need a little nap
Happy Birthday my sweet Caden P - I can't believe you are already two years old!!! You have turned into the most fun, silly, giggly, feisty, stubborn little guy I know. You make me laugh and want to pull my hair out more than anyone else - usually in the same 30 min. period. I know there is some sort of plan for that fiery little personality of yours. I don't know what it is, but I know it will be something great. I love you so much and I am so proud of you and to be your mommy

Oh my word. You made me cry like a baby. Thank you so much for having friends bring toys to donate to the Children's Hospital. While we live far from you, people around here do the same thing and many toys have been given to Joey after painful treatments/doctor visits/surgeries. Those toys bring so much joy to my little guy. And when I see him smile, I feel better and when he comes home he shares the toys with his sister. It's a huge circle of smiles. Thank You.

Happy Birthday to your little man!
